The Betty Queen Center is available for walking during January through April, 2018 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 6:45 AM - 8:00 AM. These are the only times the gym is available for walking during these Winter and Spring months; however, these hours are subject to change.

Are you aged 21 or older and love playing billiards, but have no place to play? Come join the Cue Ball Billiards Club at the Betty Queen Center. The Teen Center is open most weekdays from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. The cost is just $10 for membership for January through April 2018. Play pool and spend time socializing with others who love the game. Hey ladies...this club is NOT just for men! Everyone is welcome. Why not give it a try?

Billiards fans...you can now come to the Betty Queen Center on Sundays and play pool in the Teen Center from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM. These Sunday Billiards cost $2 each time you attend and are open to the general public ages 21 and older, as well as current Club members.

Start your mornings with MargaretAnne and her Cardio Pump ‘n Core Workout. You don’t need to spend hours sweating on a treadmill and lifting weights at the gym to reap the benefits of exercise. MargaretAnne will layer cardio fat-burning moves, sculpting, core focused exercises, weights and resistance training to improve your muscle tone, strength, and flexibility. No two classes are the same. Everyone is welcome ~ first-timers wanting to start an exercise routine to the advanced fitness person wanting to add to their daily exercise routine. MargaretAnne will make sure you sweat away those calories with a great workout. Join her for an hour of fitness fun and don’t forget to bring a yoga mat, water bottle, and towel. If you can’t commit to a full session, take as many classes as you’d like for the $8 drop in rate per class. There will be no class on January 12th, January 15th, and February 19th.
Join MargaretAnne in her No-Low Impact Workout! As we mature, our joints don’t like the impact and we begin to slow down. MargaretAnne has taken the best of all of the workouts available and modified them so anyone can do them~standing, using a chair for support, or sitting. This is not an easy workout by no means...you WILL sweat, you WILL work muscles in new ways, and MargaretAnne WILL encourage you to ensure you get the most out of each class and see those results - a stronger, leaner you! This class is for everyone, whether just beginning or wanting to try something new. Please wear supportive shoes (sneakers are ideal) and don’t forget to bring a yoga mat, water bottle and towel. If you can’t commit to a full session drop in to as many classes as you’d like for $8 per class.

MargaretAnne will use balance techniques, exercises, and movements to strengthen your muscles, core ‘work’ to strengthen your mid-section, and end with gentle stretches. As a result, you will improve your balance and core strength and reduce your fear of falling. This is a great class for first-timers, seniors, men and women wanting to improve their balance and flexibility or folks with arthritis, long-term health conditions, or those recovering from injuries or surgery. If you have difficulty getting up or down easily from the floor - this class is for you, too. All levels are welcome. Please wear supportive sneakers and bring a water bottle. If you can’t commit to a whole session, drop in to as many classes as you’d like for just $8 per class.

Pickleball is the fastest growing adult sport in the country and LCPRT is your place for Everything Pickleball! Played on a badminton court with the net dropped to 34 inches, the sport encompasses elements of tennis, racquetball, and ping pong. This program is open to adults~of any age! Limited equipment is available at no charge to help as you are introduced to the sport. We offer a drop-in rate of $2 each time you come to play or you can buy a punch pass good for 12 visits for only $20. Punch passes can only be purchased weekdays at the Betty Queen Center. Join us and discover this fun sport for yourself.

The NEW YEAR is the time to refocus your goals and work on a NEW YOU! This class is for the student who needs to move gently into his/her yoga practice, for the person who only has a little time in the week to do yoga, and/or the person whose body is in need of improved balance, strength, and over-all flexibility. Come join Donya Bauer, MA, E-RYT 500, in a friendly atmosphere where each student moves according to how they feel at any given moment. It is a great class for the beginning student or the person in recovery, and for the advanced students who know the importance of taking it slowly. Bring a yoga mat to class. There is an $8 per class payment option available for those who wish to check out the class (newcomers are always welcome!) and for those paying for less than 10 classes. Class meets each Thursday from 4:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. at the Henson Building. Why not give this class a try?

It’s THAT time of year again. Time to get your income taxes done! Don’t you wish you truly understood all that tax stuff and didn’t have to pay someone else to prepare your taxes for you? Even the standard 1040 form has Schedules A, B, D, C-EZ, EIC, M, R, and SE...how is anyone supposed to know what to do? Iffat Smith is certified in tax preparation and will guide you through the maze of government documents and teach you real-world tax situations and preparation in these convenient classes so you can master your annual return. The deadline to register for these classes is the Monday prior to class start date.

Let’s make cheese! Learn to make your own fresh mozzarella and ricotta cheeses during this fun and interactive class! We will use a gallon of whole milk, some citric acid, and rennet to make mozzarella and ricotta. Instructor Sharon Munyak, owner of Hobby Hill Farm, will teach you how to make these cheeses; the difference between home made and store bought will amaze you! The registration deadline is February 5th, but these classes always fill up, so register early! Bring an apron and a Tupperware bowl to take home your freshly made cheese.

Line Dancing is a fun and energetic way for anyone who loves music of all genres to get a little exercise and have a great time. You will learn the basic steps that can be incorporated into the songs of yesteryear and the latest hits of today. Olivia Ray, line dance instructor Xtrordinair, will show you how easy it is to learn the moves that make you feel right at home on the dance floor. You never need a partner in our Line Dance lessons, but feel free to bring along some friends for a really great time! Please wear shoes that slide on a wood floor. The registration deadline is September 5th.
