    The Betty Queen Center is available for walking during January through April, 2018 on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 6:45 AM - 8:00 AM. These are the only times the gym is available for walking during these Winter and Spring months; however, these hours are subject to change.

  2. Billiards Club

    Are you aged 21 or older and love playing billiards, but have no place to play? Come join the Cue Ball Billiards Club at the Betty Queen Center. The Teen Center is open most weekdays from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. The cost is just $10 for membership for January through April 2018. Play pool and spend time socializing with others who love the game. Hey ladies...this club is NOT just for men! Everyone is welcome. Why not give it a try?

  3. Sunday Billiards

    Billiards can now come to the Betty Queen Center on Sundays and play pool in the Teen Center from 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM. These Sunday Billiards cost $2 each time you attend and are open to the general public ages 21 and older, as well as current Club members.

  4. MA's No-Low Impact Workout

    Join MargaretAnne in her No-Low Impact Workout! As we mature, our joints don’t like the impact and we begin to slow down. MargaretAnne has taken the best of all of the workouts available and modified them so anyone can do them~standing, using a chair for support, or sitting. This is not an easy workout by no WILL sweat, you WILL work muscles in new ways, and MargaretAnne WILL encourage you to ensure you get the most out of each class and see those results - a stronger, leaner you! This class is for everyone, whether just beginning or wanting to try something new. Please wear supportive shoes (sneakers are ideal) and don’t forget to bring a yoga mat, water bottle and towel. If you can’t commit to a full session drop in to as many classes as you’d like for $8 per class.

  5. Adult Wood Carving Class Baa Baa Wood Sheep

    Having trouble sleeping? Carve the sheep of your dreams! The sheep’s head is carved from a separate piece of basswood, allowing the head to be set at any angle. That’s what helps to make this sheep so cute! He is 4” long from head to tail and 4” tall from his toes to his fluffy top. As an alternative to the whitish sheep, you can paint the sheep black...then you’d have Baa Baa Black Sheep...have you any wood...? Ha Ha! We will be using various carving tools such as u-gouges, v-tools, and detail knives. If you have your own carving tools, bring them. If not, Kathy will provide the tools needed during the class. This project is based on Don Worley’s design, Woodcarving Illustrated Issue #50. The registration deadline is January 18th. You can check out all of Kathy’s carvings at

  6. Basic Dog Obedience

    This dog obedience course will provide basic instruction for owners and their dogs. It will cover commands such as sit, heel, come, down, and stay. Also, instructor Sharon Jones, who has been training dogs for over 20 years, will discuss some of the most common behavioral issues many pet owners have. All dogs must have up-to-date shot records.

  7. Balance & Stretch Workout

    MargaretAnne will use balance techniques, exercises, and movements to strengthen your muscles, core ‘work’ to strengthen your mid-section, and end with gentle stretches. As a result, you will improve your balance and core strength and reduce your fear of falling. This is a great class for first-timers, seniors, men and women wanting to improve their balance and flexibility or folks with arthritis, long-term health conditions, or those recovering from injuries or surgery. If you have difficulty getting up or down easily from the floor - this class is for you, too. All levels are welcome. Please wear supportive sneakers and bring a water bottle. If you can’t commit to a whole session, drop in to as many classes as you’d like for just $8 per class.

  8. Puppy Socialization

    This class is designed for puppies between the ages of 4 months and 11 months old. We will work on puppy socialization and interactive play with other puppies. There will be some simple obedience taught, but mostly lots of fun play time! It is important for puppies to learn to interact with their own species so they can practice and hone their canine communication skills. This class will start you and your puppy on a great path to happy companionship. All puppies must have up-to-date shot records. Sharon Jones is the instructor.

  9. Louisa Pickelball

    Pickleball is the fastest growing adult sport in the country and LCPRT is your place for Everything Pickleball! Played on a badminton court with the net dropped to 34 inches, the sport encompasses elements of tennis, racquetball, and ping pong. This program is open to adults~of any age! Limited equipment is available at no charge to help as you are introduced to the sport. We offer a drop-in rate of $2 each time you come to play or you can buy a punch pass good for 12 visits for only $20. Punch passes can only be purchased weekdays at the Betty Queen Center. Join us and discover this fun sport for yourself.

  10. Stepped-Up Yoga

    February 6, 2018, 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM @ Henson Building

    Is it time to take your yogic journey a little farther...? Are you ready to focus on the subtle movements of the body? Join Donya Bauer, MA, E-RYT 500 for a deeper Yogic experience. This class is not just about harder poses; it is about fine-tuning and refining the asana (poses) practice. We will also explore some meditation and pranayama (breath work). Students need to have a basic understanding of yoga and a willingness to explore whatever their body might be ready for in this stepped-up version of Yoga. This class is limited to 10 students who will need to bring their yoga mat, blanket, and their strap to class. There is an $8 per class payment option available for those paying for less than 10 classes. Class meets each Tuesday from 4:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. at the Henson Building. Come check it out! Visits may be used anytime within 6-months for any of Donya's classes.

  11. Small Gasoline Engine Repair

    February 6, 2018, 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM @ Betty Queen Center

    Do you need to get your lawn mower or other small engine tuned up in time for the spring planting and grass cutting season? Are you ready to learn how to maintain your equipment so it continues to run properly? We will use a Briggs & Stratton engine for demonstrations, along with reference manuals.Bill Witt, who has worked on all engine types and owns his own small engine repair business, will help you learn how to work on these engines and learn the basics of tune up and maintenance procedures. Participants must provide their own hand tools and engines to work on, but you do not need to bring them to the first night of class. You will receive a certificate upon successful completion of this course. Attendance at the FIRST CLASS is mandatory. The deadline to sign up for this class is January 18th.
