K-Hawk

At their September 6, 2022 meeting, the Louisa County Board of Supervisors appointed Kristin Hawk as Chief of Louisa County Fire and Emergency Medical Services (LCFEMS).

Accepting the position after 14 years with LCFEMS, Chief Hawk brings valuable experience including tenure as a Medic, Lieutenant, Assistant Chief, and Deputy Chief of Administration. Her numerous accomplishments included a Paramedic certification, being a certified Instructor for the Virginia Department of Fire Programs, as well as a graduate of the National Fire Officers Academy and its Executive Officer Program. Her hands-on skills are matched with her proven management skills as demonstrated in her daily operations supervision, system management, and budget and grant administration.

“It is truly an honor to be selected as the next Chief of Fire and Emergency Medical Services for Louisa County.” Acknowledging that LCFEMS has been recognized in recent years for the advancements made to better serve the community, Chief Hawk went on to say, “I look forward to continuing to move the department forward, both career and volunteer.”

Chief Hawk is the first female Chief in Louisa County and she is one in a small number of female Chiefs in the state. She was selected for her qualifications for the position, her capable leadership, and her vision to ensure quality services for Louisa County citizens.
