Louisa County provides scheduled programs for special wastes twice a year in the Spring and the Fall.
Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic: All citizens must have the household hazardous waste items they wish to dispose of either in the trunk of their car or the bed of a pickup to limit the contact workers have with vehicle occupants. Only fuel containers will be returned to vehicles and no residents are allowed to exit their vehicles without Project Manager approval. Vehicle windows are not allowed to be lower than half to prevent any possible droplet transfers between workers and vehicle occupant(s).

The Sheriff's Office has a prescription box in their lobby at 1 Woolfolk Ave. They also hold a prescription take-back day twice a year at several locations in the County to safely dispose of expired or unused prescriptions.
