Spring Break Boredom Busters


These Spring Break Boredom Busters are for children age 6 and older (must be accompanied by an adult).
$5 per child (accompanying adult free). Stop by the Sargeant Museum anytime between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. 
to participate in the day’s activities.

Monday, April 6th: Textile Arts
Try your hand at carding wool and work on some paper weaving
and/or embroidery to take home with you.

Tuesday, April 7th: Paper Arts
Try your hand at the paper art of quilling and the newest
marbling fad ~ shaving cream marbling!

Wednesday, April 8th: Spy Messages!
Learn about Revolutionary War spy James Armistead Lafayette, an enslaved
Virginian who helped win the war! Come up with your own
secret code and write an invisible message!

Thursday, April 9th: Fun & Games
Try your hand at popular games of the past. Make your own marbles,
whirl-i-gig, and/or thaumatrope to take home!

Friday, April 10th: Monaan Traditions
Learn about the Monacan Indians.
Plant your own 'three sisters' garden and mke 
a pot and/or necklace to take home!
