Economic Development - Highways
Interstate 64 runs east-west through the southern portion of the county, connecting the metropolitan areas of Charlottesville and Richmond. The primary north-south artery of Interstate 95 is 35 miles east of the county and Interstate 81 is right under 39 miles from the County border to the west. US 29 is only 18 miles west of the county. Secondary roadways within the county, such as State Route 208 and U.S. Routes 15, 33, 22 and 250, serve as the tributaries flowing to the surrounding US Routes and Interstates.

There are 5 exits into the county off of Interstate 64. Commercial, industrial, and residential development along the I64 corridor is occurring at the Zion Crossroads interchange just outside of Charlottesville.

Long and short haul tractor trailers take advantage of
services just off I64 at Zion Crossroads.
