Mission Statement
The mission of the Department of Emergency Services is to provide the citizens and those who may pass through with the most proficient delivery of Emergency Services that can be accomplished by prudently utilizing all resources available to the department.

The Emergency Management System begins with
the contact to the 911 Center requesting assistance (How to use 911). Response is delivered from one of the seven During emergencies, the Department of Emergency Service plans, implements and coordinates a response as outlined in the County Emergency Operating Plan. Louisa County is unique since we must plan and prepare for emergencies at the North Anna Nuclear Power Station under the Radiological Emergency Response Plan. Louisa County's Department of Emergency Services and most of the volunteer rescue squads and fire companies are members of the Thomas Jefferson EMS Council http://www.tjems.org. The TJEMS Council provides its member agencies assistance with recruitment, retention and training of emergency medical service providers. It also provides emergency preparedness exercises and all required continuing education for EMS personnel and volunteers to maintain certification levels. The RESCUE SQUAD needs your help! |

Department of Emergency Services provides management, coordination,
training, and response to small or large emergencies that
impact the citizens of the County. In addition the department
is responsible for emergency medical services (EMS), addressing
maintenance, and communications system management.
